Christmas magic in the old town of Lügden
The cozy Christmas market takes place in Lügde on the third weekend of Advent.
The third Advent is approaching and with it the Lügde Christmas market, which is traditionally celebrated this weekend (13 and 14 December). Lügde Marketing e.V. has been organizing the market together with many associations from Lügde for decades. In addition to beautiful crafts and culinary temptations, the Lügde Christmas market once again offers a varied program for young and old this year.
The center of the Christmas market is the market square with the metre-high fir tree and the stage in front of the town hall.
On Sunday at 3.30 pm, the children from the Lügde daycare centers will sing Christmas songs before Nikolaus presents each child with a small gift. Afterwards, the moment of truth will come and it will be revealed whether the mayor's bet will be successful this year or not. Detailed information about the bet will be announced later. The wind orchestra of the town of Lügde traditionally plays at the end on Sunday.
The small hut village and the cozy market barn, in which a large number of exhibitors present a wide range of products, also ensure Christmas anticipation. "In addition to ceramic items, home-sewn goods, delicatessen and confectionery, there are also dog cookies, Christmas cribs, plotter products, wooden decorations and simply everything your Christmas heart desires," reports Larissa Gräbner from the Lügde Marketing e.V. office. The artisan market opens on both days from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A special feature of the Lügde Christmas market is the variety of culinary delights. In addition to Christmas market classics, the local associations also offer unusual treats. And, of course, the children's carousel is also back this year.
A visit to the Christmas market can be ideally combined with buying presents. On Saturday, all Lügden retailers invite you to store until 6 p.m. and on the 3rd Advent, the stores open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. (sales Sunday) for Advent shopping.
