    Round trip on flat farm tracks across the NRW border to Bad Essen.

    Cycle through the North German Plain at a relaxed pace. This tour takes you through beautiful meadows, fields and small forests past castles and palaces to the historic town center of Bad Essen. You can combine this tour with the Small East Westphalia Tour (15.3 km) and cycle along the signposted connecting path "over the border".

    You start at Rila erleben and follow the signs towards "Bad Essen" via Heithöfen. Here you will come to the BE3/NST circular cycle route. Leave the BE3 at the Mittelland Canal and cycle along the water until you reach Wittlage Castle. Here you leave the canal bank (4th bridge) and follow the BE2/NST circular cycle route to the historic town center of Bad Essen. From the tourist information office, follow the BE3/NST again. This route takes you via Wehrendorf, along the castles of Hünnefeld and Ippenburg with its famous show gardens back towards the starting point "Experience Rila".

    Always pay attention to the road safety of your bike. For your own safety and as a role model, we recommend wearing a cycle helmet.

    PLEASE NOTE: The descent to the Mittelland Canal is steeper than it seems. Please be particularly careful here!
