Destinationpoint

Park-and-bike station at the windmill in Levern

Half-day circular tour: 21 km on flat, quiet farm tracks through the municipality of Stemwede.

Relaxing cycling through four of the thirteen villages in the municipality of Stemwede. You can start this tour at any point. The route has no inclines and leads through scenic areas. The Levern and Destel windmills are located along the way. A detour to the "green adventure village" of Niedermehnen is well worthwhile. It is worth visiting the almost two-hectare nature garden with its art objects. Or would you prefer to go on a treasure hunt in the corn maze? Rest and refreshment stops are available along the route for a short breather.

Details

This path leads south of the new development area under shady trees to the so-called Lever Teich, a beautiful quarry landscape (transition to the ST2 possible). Below the brickworks in Niedermehnen, the path continues in a north-easterly direction. Meadows, fields and pastures alternate. Due to the close proximity of the Großer Diekfluss watercourse, herons can often be observed here. If you want to continue to Oppenwehe, you can turn left after Babbelage onto the ST4 and from there onto the ST5. Otherwise, the route leads in a southerly direction through the Lever Forest (newly created fish pond) via Destel and back to the mill in Levern.

Always pay attention to the road safety of your bicycle. For your own safety and as a role model, we recommend wearing a bicycle helmet.
