ADFC station Bad Meinberg - Brunnenstr. 67
We start at the ADFC station in Bad Meinberg, follow "Parkstraße" through the park, turn left into "Pyrmonter Straße" and keep straight on to the end of Bad Meinberg. Our route takes us on the cycle path along the B 239 - Höxter - to the junction of the B 239 + B 1. At the first forest path junction, we cross under the B 239 and follow the forest path with the signs "Entenkrug - Norderteich" through the Beller Holz. The asphalt strip now leads us slightly downhill through the forest, at the first crossroads we keep left, the main path still leads us downhill to the wild boar enclosure and then along the edge of the forest to the village of Entenkrug.
Turn right behind the building and follow Entenkrugstraße along the edge of the forest to the next hill, then turn right up Starenweg and back down into the village of Billerbeck, where we follow the road into the village. At the K 76, keep right, cross the "Napte" stream and turn left at the "Post" inn onto the busy L 823. After 50 m, turn right before the cemetery chapel and take the narrow tarmac field path up the small hill, the scenic route leads through the meadows and reaches the village of Ottenhausen on "Brinkstraße". Here we turn right and cycle left into "Langestraße", after 50 m we turn left into "Grebbergstraße", cycle straight on at the next junction - hiking trail signs for "Bellenberg" - out of the village, the asphalt path climbs slightly uphill and now changes to gravel. With slight ups and downs - views over Ottenhausen, Beller Holz with Norderteich and into the Emmer valley near Schieder - the increasingly narrow gravel path leads us along the edge of the forest and at the end of a short downhill section comes to an asphalt farm track. This leads us along the slope of the Bellenberg through the meadows and fields - the village of Vahlhausen lies in the valley below us - to the village cemetery. Here we turn left onto the cycle path along the L 823 "Steinheimer Straße" and follow it over the cut in the B 1 to the next hilltop. We turn right onto the asphalt field path with the sign "Moorstich - Bad Meinberg". The tarmac path now leads down the hill and changes to a gravel surface, becoming narrower and narrower as it continues and crosses a small stream on a small tin bridge. The very narrow path leads us through a hedge bush and then meets a wide road at the moor trench. There is a covered rest area with a natural moor treading pool right next to the Bad Meinberg mine.
We ride up the asphalt access road to Bad Meinberg and follow the quiet residential road "Auf der Heide" to the B 239. After crossing it, we pass the bus station and ride down "Marktstraße" to the "Allee" junction, turn right and after 15 km we have reached the starting point again. We recommend that you wear a bicycle helmet.
