Bridge

The Anker Bridge is the former connection between the Anker-Werke factory buildings. Together with the exposed Lutter, it is a popular photo motif.

Anker-Werke was a German company based in Bielefeld that specialized in the manufacture of sewing machines, cash registers, accounting machines, small motorcycles and bicycles. After the Second World War, the company began to rebuild in 1948, shifting its focus to the production of office machines and cash registers. In 1976, Anker-Werke AG filed for bankruptcy. Over the years, various takeovers took place, most recently by the software giant Oracle in 2014. Since 2015, Anker-Werke's best-known division (cash register systems) has been privately owned again and operates as an independent company. It still has its headquarters in Bielefeld.
