"Contemporary history adventure forest"
In this so-called "contemporary history adventure forest", a short journey through the history of the forest, trees and plants from the Ice Age to the present day, the aim is to vividly show which tree species have dominated and shaped our habitat over the millennia and how human life and activities have influenced the development and change of the forest.
The idea has since been put into practice, as around 30 different deciduous and coniferous trees have already been donated and planted by the citizens of Bierde on various occasions. However, another directly adjacent area still offers space for planting more trees in the future.
This "Contemporary History Adventure Forest" is completed and rounded off by this
information board with a general overview and further information, as well as small information boards on each tree to document when an exemplary tree species was mainly found in contemporary history and who donated and planted this tree and for what reason. This creates a traceable link between the historical events of the people of a village and the trees in its area.
