The settlement of Moorlage was established here in the north of Horn in 1939. The reason for this new foundation was the abandonment and resettlement of the Sennedorf Haustenbeck.
Due to the necessary expansion of the Senne military training area, which is located on the southern side of the Teutoburg Forest as seen from Horn, it became necessary to dissolve the village of Haustenbeck. At that time, it was decided to create a new home for the inhabitants of Haustenbeck with the Moorlage settlement.
The Moorlage settlement is named after its proximity to the adjacent moor.
