Luisenturm Borgholzhausen

The observation tower is located on the Johannisegge (291 m) on Peter-Eggermont-Straße. The Luisenturm tower on the popular "Hermannsweg" hiking trail can be climbed free of charge. The tower offers a view of the Münsterland region and the Ravensberg hills. There is a restaurant in the refuge. Further information is available at www.luisenturmhuette.de

The traditional observation tower on the Johannisegge offers the best views of the landscape. From its top platform, you can look out over the Ravensberg hills, the Münster lowlands, the Wiehengebirge mountains and the Weserbergland. On some days, you can even see the foothills of the Sauerland. The wooden tower is named after the popular Prussian Queen Luise (1776 - 1810). The first tower dates back to 1893, but thanks to the constant efforts of the local heritage association, it is now the fourth tower at this location and can be climbed free of charge at any time. There is also a rustic refreshment stop at a hiking restaurant at the weekends.
