With historian Frank Huismann, we follow the topic of "Historical Roads" around the Externsteine. Hidden in the forest there are visible remnants of road construction from the Middle Ages to the recent past. What is now a hiking area was the main thoroughfare in earlier centuries and was correspondingly busy. This is linked to key points in Lippe's history, such as the founding of Falkenburg Castle by Bernhard II zur Lippe and his son Hermann or the first expansion of the Externsteine as a tourist attraction under Princess Pauline.
All of this can be experienced on an approx.
Start: 3 p.m. at the towering crossroads directly behind the Externsteine (parking facilities Schliepsteinweg or Externsteiner Straße, 32805 Horn-Bad Meinberg)
