Raising the maypole in Borgholzhausen

Every year on May 1st, the maypole is erected in the garden of the Schulze café in Borgholzhausen. Participants from all 12 districts of Borgholzhausen make their way to the town center in a rally to hang their town sign on the maypole.

Accompanied by a musical program by the Borgholzhausen clubs, spring is welcomed in a convivial atmosphere.

Dear guests from near and far, we warmly welcome you on May 1st.

Traditionally on 1 May, the maypole is erected in the garden of the Schulze Ladencafé.

The participants from all 12 districts make their way to the town in a rally to hang their town sign on the maypole.

Accompanied by a musical program, we then welcome spring in a convivial atmosphere! A barbecue and drinks trolley as well as the Schulze Ladencafé with delicious coffee and cake will provide for your physical well-being.

The following timetable is planned:

11:15 am - 11:30 am

Participants of the star walk will start at Ravensberger Stadion the joint procession through the city. The parade will be accompanied by the marching band of the Borgholzhausen volunteer fire department.

11:30 am - 12:00 pm

Introduction of the districts in the garden of the Schulze Ladencafé and attachment of the district signs to the maypole

Point 12:00 h

Positioning of the maypole by the Volunteer Fire Brigade Borgholzhausen, official opening and greetings

12:30 h - approx. 16:00 h

Musical supporting program for young & old and everyone. Clapping, singing and dancing along is expressly encouraged!

In addition, the Borgholzhausen Tourist Office will be presenting itself as the organizer with an information stand!
